GeekSlash is run by Sean Spurr.
Sean started building websites when he was in Primary School at about age 10 after reading a book called Your Own Website by Bill Thompson (who is now a journalist working for the BBC, if you watch their Click programme you’ve probably seen him interviewed). The HTML Sean learnt from this book encouraged him to make websites aimed at his friends, hence online games became the main theme. In 2001 just after starting high school Sean register the domain Games2Go.co.uk and started his first proper games website.
By 2003, still in high school, Sean started his own company after making more than $5k a month from AdWords promotion of affiliate offers. By 2005 he was regularly bringing in this amount purely from CPM networks on his games websites.
He started paying less attention to sites and more to education, leading him to get a place to study History and Politics at Oxford University. Since graduating in Summer 2011 he’s gone back to web work and formed this blog to record his journey.
